A retrospective exhibition of M. K. Čiurlionis (1875–1911) was held at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris from November 6, 2000, to February 4, 2001.

The exhibition of M. K. Čiurlionis’s works was held under the patronage of President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and President of France Jacques Chirac.

The curators of the exhibition are Henri Loyrette, director of the Musée d’Orsay, and Osvaldas Daugelis, director of the M. K. Čiurlionis National Art Museum. The Lithuanian Embassy in France and Ugnė Karvelis, Lithuania’s ambassador to UNESCO, provided tremendous assistance in organizing the exhibition.
