The decorative solution in the painting has distinctly Art Nouveau-like elements. Čiurlionis paints the silhouettes of the guests passing through this meadow palace smaller than flitting butterflies, as if creating a hymn in worship of nature.

The patterns of the colourful undergrowth are reminiscent of the motifs and colour palette of traditional Lithuanian textiles.

“... the girl weaves sashes and aprons, and what is there not to be found: nigh all the colours of the rainbow, symbols of some sort, ornaments, little fir trees, grasses. And all for what?
