The bibliography dedicated to M. K. Čiurlionis, prepared by the Vrublevskis Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, covers literature published in Lithuania and abroad in various languages between 1970 and 2023. The publication contains historiographical material bearing witness to the memory of M.K. Čiurlionis, which will provide a comprehensive overview of his personality, life, works and commemoration.

On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, the Vrublevskis Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences is preparing a bibliography dedicated to this personality of great importance for Lithuanian culture. It is a comprehensive, structured source of cultural and scientific knowledge, providing historiographical material on the memory of the famous painter and composer. Researchers from various disciplines (literary scholars, historians, musicologists, art historians, cultural anthropologists) as well as all those interested in the subject (educators, schoolchildren, students, local historians, museums, librarians) will find useful references and valuable information.

The publication is a continuation of the bibliography "Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis", published in 1970, and therefore it registers the literature related to M. K. Čiurlionis published in Lithuania and abroad in various languages in the period from 1970-2023. The first section of the publication records Čiurlionis' creative heritage: printed works (books, articles, letters, journalism), musical works (sheet music, sound recordings), catalogues of art works and reproductions in the press, photographs.

The second section contains the literature on Čiurlionis: books, articles, memoirs, letters, as well as information on the commemoration of Čiurlionis in literature, art, music, cinema, theatre, television, events dedicated to his memory and the objects named after him (museums, schools, music ensembles, competitions, societies, etc.).

The material collected in the bibliography will help to gain a deeper insight into the personality of M. K. Čiurlionis, the facts of his life and work, his rich artistic and cultural activities, their significance and appreciation, and will also serve as a valuable research base for further studies of his life and work.

The publication is being prepared by a team of bibliographers from the Vrublevskis Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences: Vaida Juodėnienė, Eglė Paškevičiūtė-Kundrotienė, Aušra Šalnaitė, Rasa Putkienė and Birutė Railienė.
