The contemporary city festival "Audra", the festival that disrupted the tranquility of Kaunas during the "Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022" year, this year will take place for the fourth time, from September 18 to 21. The event is held in both traditional and unique locations, ranging from Ąžuolynas Park, Kaunas Artists' House, and Mykolas Žilinskas Art Gallery to the “Pergalė” steel factory. The program is a true synthesis of music, art, and culture.

During the "Audra" festival, every resident and visitor of Kaunas will find an activity that suits them, as the programme is crafted with a truly wide range of experiences. For those who enjoy live music – dancing in Ąžuolynas Park, under the open sky. For art lovers – an artistic programme curated by the festival’s art director, Tautvydas Urbelis. For those who enjoy tours – excursions curated by Jonas Oškinis and Povilas Pauplys. And that’s not all – there’s also an extensive music programme, along with activities and events curated together with our partners. And that's just a small part of what you can experience in Kaunas during the "Audra" festival.

This year's "Audra" is not only a music festival, but also a cultural dialogue with M. K. Čiurlionis' work. The festival organizers, together with the M. K. Čiurlionis National Museum of Art, are organizing exceptional audiovisual performances that will transfer the artistic dreams of the visionary to the electronic present.

“Čiurlionis was as much an innovator in his time as today’s electronic music creators. He was looking for a universal language that would transcend the boundaries of music and painting. This year, we will do just that at the festival – combining sound, visual installations, and contemporary electronic culture into a seamless experience,” say the festival organizers.

The festival’s slogan “Rising Higher – See Further” becomes even more relevant this year. Celebrating the anniversary of Čiurlionis, "Audra" invites viewers to discover not only a musical, but also an emotional and artistic experience, rising above the everyday.
