We invite you to a warm and cozy evening, during which Liuda Matonienė will explore the connection between one of Lithuania’s most prominent artists—M. K. Čiurlionis—and amber, the Baltic Sea, and the works of art inspired by it.

The lecture will cover Čiurlionis’ visits to the Baltic Sea, the role and motifs of amber in his work, the image of the sea and the world of his “Sea” Sonata, as well as the amber hues, colors, and light revealed in his paintings.

This will be an invitation to view Čiurlionis’s work from a slightly different perspective—through amber, the Baltic Sea, color, and music—while exploring the connections between them.

The gathering will take place in a cozy atmosphere with a warm cup of tea.

Seating is limited, so advance registration is required.
