In the anniversary year of M. K. Čiurlionis, we are excited to share joyful news – a new book for children and families, Kastukas Has Returned, has just been published!

This is a wonderful opportunity for both children and adults to discover M. K. Čiurlionis together.

On April 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM, a book launch and creative workshop with the authors will take place at the M. K. Čiurlionis House in Vilnius.

Kastukas Has Returned is a lively and engaging story about the childhood and creative path of M. K. Čiurlionis – his inner world, his relationship with nature, and his journey into art. Readers will learn how this exceptional artist, known in childhood as Kastukas, discovered his talent and what those first steps into the world of art meant to him.

Are you curious what kind of flowers little Kastukas wanted to give his mother? Or what inspired him to compose his first symphonic poem In the Forest?

This book answers these and many other questions, revealing an artist’s world full of creativity, warmth, and adventure.

The story of Čiurlionis’ childhood and artistic journey is told not only through words, but also through beautiful illustrations by artist Vaida Kunigėlytė.

At the book launch event, you’ll enjoy captivating stories and creative activities for the whole family.

Together with Kastukas, you’ll travel through the Raigardas Valley, sail to Jurbarkas, and greet the sunrise atop Gediminas Hill.
