The concert series “Dialogues with Čiurlionis” continues. In the second concert of this season, pianists Justas Šervenikas (Lithuania) and Johan Randvere (Estonia)—who have been performing as a piano duo since 2019—will take the stage.

The concert program will feature:

Ludwig van Beethoven – Sonata in D Major, Op. 6

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Sonata in F Major, K. 497

Franz Schubert – Rondo in A Major, D. 951

Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis – symphonic poem “In the Forest”

Justas Šervenikas has been actively performing since 2006. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has appeared at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, the Kaunas Philharmonic, and the Klaipėda Concert Hall, and has performed in various European countries and Mexico. The pianist has performed with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater Symphony Orchestra, the San Luis Potosí City Symphony Orchestra, the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, and “Skipton Camerata.” His stage partners have included tenor Marcelis Beekman, violinist Philippe Graffine, and pianist Petras Geniušas.

Johan Randvere is a laureate of numerous international competitions and has performed in concert halls such as Carnegie Hall in New York and La Sala Puccini in Milan. As a soloist, he has performed with the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, the Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, and other ensembles. The pianist performs in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Italy, the Vatican, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Canada, and the United States.

Justas Šervenikas and Johan Randvere have been performing as a piano duo since 2019, presenting several new programs to the public each year.

Over the course of its seven years, “Dialogues with Čiurlionis” has become an integral part of the cultural program at the M. K. Čiurlionis House. The aim of the series is to encourage foreign pianists to include Čiurlionis’s works in their concert repertoires and to present them in their own countries as well as during concerts in various parts of the world. Thanks to this series, M. K. Čiurlionis’s music has already been performed in Norway, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and other countries.
