The project “Letters to M. K. Čiurlionis” is a sign of respect for the brilliant Lithuanian artist, whose life, like a meteor flash, illuminated our sky. The depth of Čiurlionis’s work, the polyphony of its expressive breadths, connecting the real and spiritual worlds, different areas of art, left indelible traces in world culture and art, and today is a source of inspiration for many creators.

This exhibition has become an opportunity for fans of the brilliant artist to gather together and, together with the famous watercolorists and colleagues of the Baltic states of Latvia and Estonia, to share what unexpected thoughts, insights, and amazement the works of the outstanding Lithuanian artist aroused. The special vitality and multifacetedness of Čiurlionis’s work is evidenced by the fact that every artist can find a topic close to them in it and rely on it, everyone can look at it from their own point of view and build a bridge to the space of imagination.

Čiurlionis is needed by all of us, because he thinks about great, noble things, about what, drowning in everyday worries and the hustle and bustle of work, we often do not find time to think about. Čiurlionis's saying that it is necessary to "strain the spirit", in other words, to awaken the spirit, so that a creative impulse, inner radiance, can be ignited in a person, is especially relevant now, when the consumerist trend is increasingly overshadowing spiritual values.

It is impossible and impossible to teach to make honest art. It is necessary to teach a person to be a person, to let him know the wonderful palaces of wisdom, goodness and love."
